Nutrition and Rodeo

As much fun as rodeo events can be, they are also dangerous and physically demanding. The traveling schedule can be grueling on the sleep cycle and overall recovery. Fuel, Entry Fees, Feed, etc; don't skimp on your health if you want to win! An organized nutritional wellness plan may not only help with a rodeo-athlete's performance in the arena but also with simply keeping up! It is difficult to perform in a sport as demanding as rodeo when you're tired and run-down because athletes are consistently confronted with the threat of serious injury and the need to recover quickly.

Competitions in rodeos are fairly short compared to other sports but still demand repeated bursts of explosive power, strength, balance and coordination. Rodeo-athletes require a high level of fitness in order to be considered elite.

As an Elite Rodeo-Athlete one must be rested, focused, and ready to perform. One can't replicate and prepare for the excact conditions of each event, but you athletes can and should be as physically prepared as possible.

Because of the threat of injury, it is advised that a rodeo-athlete participate in a strength and conditioning program. Nutrition plays a crucial role in not only helping the athlete achieve optimal training results, but also recovering quickly.
